I was heading home from college in the afternoon.

Bengaluru

This happened on 16 January 2013. I was heading home from college. A friend of mine wanted me to wait for him. I don't know why I decided to go through a lonely stretch. I was waiting for my friend and slowly started walking towards my home thinking that my friend would catch up.
I reached the corner of a street and had just finished talking to my parents, when all of a sudden I felt some hand grope my breast. I was shocked. I turned to recognize the face, but sadly, I was greeted to eyes that looked menacing. This guy was on a bike and had worn a helmet. I was stunned at what had happened. By the time I could read the number on the bike, my eyes were filled with tears. The bike had gone ahead of me. All I could do was scream at the wretched guy. I was scared to take that route. I remember crying. I had my parents calling me to ask me how long will it be before I could reach home. I didn't have the guts to share this with them till almost two months after the incident.
So, I walked all the way back to my college towards the main road to go home.
To be honest, I had nightmares for weeks where I was back on the same road. A part of me earnestly wished I was strong enough to slap the guy. Another part of me tried recalling the vehicle number, it was futile. I wanted to go to the police and put the guy behind the bars. I wanted to see that monster's face. But, I can never forget the menacing look in his eyes. It's almost 4 years since that incident. I have become more cautious and I ensure that I am on guard always.
It's such a sad thing that people get away with such heinous acts. If only the laws were more stringent!
